From Slashdot courtesy of Cottonbuds, this site describes a very cool project from a group that took a RoboSapien (if you haven't seen this thing yet, check it out at Wowwee's web site) and gave it a PocketPC brain.

Here's a site that shows you how to create a very basic solar robot (solar roller as they call it). It doesn't do much but roll, but it's a fairly easy to make, and a good way to get started in solar projects.

This might be an old story, but since it isn't in GeekDIY collection, I though it's ok to add it.

Here are plans to build a very basic robot using a 3 1/2" floppy drive, along with some low cost parts. If you want to build a more powerful robot that can turn, you might want to advance to the Floppy II Robot which uses two 5 1/4" drives.

Here are instructions showing you how to build a robotic android head for under $600. Using a computer, you will be able to control the head's movements, and look through it's video camera eyes. Kinda reminds me of the scene from Alien when they reconnect Ash's (the android) head to get information from him about the Alien. There was also the Star Trek episode where Data's body was destroyed, and Riker had to connect Data's severed head to the computer. Any other geeky talking android head references I missed
