Monitor Beer in a Pitcher

This article is a perfect complement to our order pizza from the command line story. It's a pitcher, that notifies the wait staff when a pitcher is low on beer (or whatever other beverage is in the pitcher). Set your local bar up with these pitchers, and never be sitting around with an empty pitcher looking for a waitress (or heaven forbid, walk up to the bar to get a refill).

Order Pizza from Command Line

Wow, here's an open source project that extremely geeky. Install Pizza Party and you can order pizza from the command line. Example: pizza_party -pmx 2 medium regular This will actually order a pizza from Dominos.

With this firmware update (remember to always be careful when updating firmware in any device), you can make your under $100 router, into a pretty powerful device.

Kite Aerial Photography

This looks like a fun way to get a different perspective from your photography. Hook up your camera to your kite, and take pics from the sky. With digital cameras getting cheaper and lighter, kite aerial photography is becoming a very accessible hobby.

Cool Mouse Hand

Metku Mods is overall a cool site with a lot of hardware mods (with an emphasis on PC cases and accessories). This mod gives instructions on building a mouse pad with a built in fan to keep your mousing hand cool. Also adds some cool lighting effects.

Build A TV Projector

This site shows you how to make your own LCD Projection TV. Good links on the bottom showing where you can get more information and parts. For those of you that don't have (or want to buy) an LCD, here's instructions to create a projector with a regular TV. It doesn't look pretty, and the resolution will be significantly lower, but would make an interesting project.
